Title: PSP Donor Care Intern

Organizational context

The Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP) sits within UNHCR’s Division of External Relations (DER) and is responsible for mobilizing resources and other forms of support from the private sector. In 2019, UNHCR China Office set up a new Private Sector Partnerships team to mobilize resources from the Chinese private sector to support our work globally. One of the key aspects in PSP’s work is to expand UNHCR’s engagement with the general public including UNHCR’s existing and potential supporters.

The position

The intern will work under the guidance and supervision of the Senior PSP Assistant (digital) and will be based in the UNHCR office in Beijing.

Recruitment as an intern is subject to proof of vaccination against Covid-19.

Duties and responsibilities

Daily operation of digital channels: support to monitor back-end systems, data collection and supporter messages, create targeted sheets for different activities;
Database analysis and summary: support to monitor and manage supporter database, update tags and status, input and export data regularly;
Support the operation of online Charity shop: support daily operation including webpage updating, responding to online inquiries, related promotion activities and logistics work;
Draft summary report: support on the monthly income data summary as well as quarterly social media report under supervisor’s guidance;
Social media content support: translate, edit and develop multi-media content related to supporter online engagement and supporter community communications, and private sector partnerships, including copywriting, picture & video editing and production, etc.
Undertaking other duties as required by the supervisor.

NOTE: An individual whose father, mother, son, daughter, brother or sister is a staff member of UNHCR, including a Temporary Appointment holder or a member of the Affiliate Workforce, is not eligible for an internship.

Minimum qualifications required

In order to be considered for an internship, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

Be either a recent graduate (having completed their studies within two years of applying) or a current student in a graduate/undergraduate school programme from a university or higher education facility accredited by IAU/UNESCO; and

Completed at least two years of undergraduate studies in English language and literature, Translation Studies, Communication Studies, Business and Marketing, etc.;

Desirable qualifications and skills

Fluent in English, proficiency in other languages i.e. French or Arabic is a plus;

Firm commitment to a full-time internship of six months.

Conditions

It is a full-time role with working hours starting from 9:00am to 6:00pm Monday to Friday (40 hours per week). The successful candidate will be assigned to support the team in Beijing office.

Allowance: Interns who do not receive financial support from an outside party will receive an allowance to partially help to cover the cost of food, local transportation and living expenses.
